In a world of chaos, be the eye of the storm.
It started on a basketball court
Back in 2024, two young students met on a basketball court in Amsterdam. After some friendly trash talk and a quick 1v1 (we'll let you guess who won), it turned out we had a lot more in common than basketball.
A shared obsession with streetwear, sneakers and music turned into late-night conversations, too many ideas, and after a few beers, the idea of AQS. We launched with an in-person pop-up in our city. First drop, sold out. We couldn't be more thankful.
More than clothing
AQS was never only about the garments. It's the music in the studio, the ball on the court, and the people who show up to every drop. We're building a world you can step into, not just a rack of tees.
Everything is small-batch and built to last, because we'd rather do less and mean it than flood the feed. This is the long game, and you're early.
Aight, here's a little timeline of how it started.
From a 1v1 to a movement
Drag across the court and follow the story, from the first game to where we are standing today.
The 1v1
Two students meet on a basketball court in Amsterdam. Some trash talk gets thrown around, a quick 1v1 follows and, to this day, there is still no agreement on who actually won. One thing is certain: this is where it all started.
Late nights
A shared obsession with streetwear, sneakers and music quickly turned into a lot of late nights. Probably too many ideas, definitely too many beers, and the beginning of what was then known as Project TBD. We had no idea where it would go. We just knew we had to build it.
The name
People always tell you to just use a name generator. We tried. It did not work. After five months of overthinking, arguing and rejecting almost every name imaginable, A Quiet Storm was finally born. Yes, it really took us that long.
The first AQS pop-up
Powered by GiG, we launched AQS in person, right here in our own city. Plenty of drinks, good music by the AQS Soundsystem and a crowd bigger than we could have imagined. The entire pop-up felt like a dream. By the end of it, everything was completely sold out. Not bad for a first storm.
The AQS Times
We like talking about a lot of things. Maybe that explains why choosing the brand name took us five months. So naturally, we started our own newspaper, The AQS Times. A place for updates, stories, interviews, nonsense and everything happening inside our world. Please do not sue us, The New York Times.
The Anniversary Drop
After a quiet period, we came back louder than ever. We launched our Anniversary Drop through exclusive Instagram early access and saw the community show up once again. But one question kept coming back: "When are you guys finally going online?" Fair question.
AQS goes online
After more than a year of Instagram drops, DMs and pop-ups, A Quiet Storm finally enters the online world. Our first real home on the internet, built to show the full world of AQS and everything still to come. Looks pretty damn good, if you ask us.
